Pixieset has a good origin story. In 2013, in Vancouver, Phoebe Jiang saw a photographer friend of hers delivering photos to clients by burning them to DVDs and mailing them. Together with developer Simon Wong, she launched a service that replaced the DVD with a link to an online gallery. Pixieset's first product was a photo gallery—and since then, the company has grown into a large platform for photographers, complete with a website, CRM, and print store.
This story explains almost everything you'll see on Pixieset's pricing page. The service was created to deliver photos. Video was added later, and it's structured differently: it's counted by the minute, not the gigabyte; on lower-tier plans it's capped at HD, and clients on those plans can download at most 2K. For a photographer who occasionally delivers a short clip, these are minor details. For a videographer, they're the biggest line item.
This guide covers all Pixieset prices for 2026: the free plan, galleries, website, CRM, and Suite package, along with all limits and additional fees. It also covers what the Pixieset pricing page doesn't spell out: how much it actually costs if you deliver wedding films to clients, and how much the same thing costs on OurStoria, a service originally created for video.

Is Pixieset Free? What the Free Plan Really Gets You
Yes, Pixieset has a free plan with no time limit and no credit card required. However, it has strict limits for working with clients:
- 3 GB of photo storage—by Pixieset's own estimate, about 1,000 photos.
- No video uploads. At all.
- No custom domain, no removing Pixieset branding, no logo of your own. The client sees Pixieset's gallery, not yours.
- Clients can't download full-resolution photos—and wedding couples almost always expect the originals.
- 15% commission on store sales.
- Up to three mobile gallery apps.
The free Website and Studio Manager are limited too: the website is capped at 15 pages, 100 photos, and 5 posts; the CRM at just three e-signature contracts and three questionnaires.
If you're a videographer, the free plan simply won't work for you: there's no video on it. The minimum entry point is Basic at $8–10 per month, and that's 30 minutes of HD video—less than one full wedding film. For 4K, it's Pro at $24–30.
By comparison, OurStoria's free trial is specifically for video—you upload a real film and immediately see it in the same gallery the couple receives.
Pixieset Client Gallery: Pricing and Limits
| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Billed monthly | Photos | Video | Custom domain and logo | Full resolution | Store commission |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 3 GB | no | no | no | 15% |
| Basic | $8 | $10 | 10 GB | 30 minutes, up to HD | yes | yes | 0% |
| Plus | $16 | $20 | 100 GB | 1 hour, up to HD | yes | yes | 0% |
| Pro | $24 | $30 | 1,000 GB | 2 hours, up to 4K | yes | yes | 0% |
| Ultimate | $40 | $50 | Unlimited | 5 hours, up to 4K | yes | yes | 0% |
Look at the "Photo" and "Video" columns next to each other—they explain Pixieset's logic. The Pro plan allocates 1,000 GB of storage for photos—according to Pixieset, that's enough for over 300,000 photos and hundreds of weddings. And the same plan gives you 2 hours of video. That's enough for two or three full wedding films. A photographer on Pro can go years without thinking about storage. A videographer hits the limit after their second wedding.
What else differentiates the plans:
- Email campaigns: 100 emails per month on Basic, 500 on Plus, 5,000 on Pro, and 10,000 on Ultimate. An additional 5,000 emails costs $10 per month.
- RAW photo uploads and bulk sharing of collections—from Pro up.
Pixieset Website and Studio Manager Pricing
Website and CRM are priced the same:
| Plan | Per month, billed annually | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 |
| Plus | $12 | $15 |
| Pro | $18 | $24 |
Website. Paid plans remove restrictions on the number of pages, photos, and posts. Pro adds custom fonts and code, redirects, the option to remove the Pixieset badge, and an AI assistant for copy.
Studio Manager. Plus offers unlimited contracts, questionnaires, and estimates, plus three active booking session types and three payment links. Pro removes all other restrictions.
Pixieset Suite: When Is the Bundle Worth It?
| Suite plan | Per month, billed annually | Billed monthly | Photos | Video |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $28 | $35 | 100 GB | 1 hour, up to HD |
| Pro | $38 | $50 | 2,000 GB | 4 hours, up to 4K |
| Ultimate | $55 | $65 | Unlimited | 10 hours, up to 4K |
If you buy galleries, a website, and a CRM separately on the Pro plans, paying annually will cost you $24 + $18 + $18 = $60 per month. Suite Pro costs $38—$22 less. This is the "up to 37% discount" that Pixieset promises.
Suite is a good value if you need at least two of the three products. If you only need galleries and already have a website, you're overpaying for a CRM and builder you don't use.
For videographers, Suite is a different story. It has more video—up to 10 hours on Ultimate—so many buy Suite not for the website, but for the minutes. But even 10 hours is about 12 full wedding films. Less than a season.
How Pixieset Counts Video
For videographers, this is the most important section. Pixieset limits video not by gigabytes, but by total duration and maximum resolution:
| Plan | Video | Resolution | Client Download |
|---|---|---|---|
| Client Gallery Basic | 30 minutes | up to HD | up to 2048 px |
| Client Gallery Plus | 1 hour | up to HD | up to 2048 px |
| Client Gallery Pro | 2 hours | up to 4K | up to 4K |
| Client Gallery Ultimate | 5 hours | up to 4K | up to 4K |
| Suite Starter / Pro / Ultimate | 1 / 4 / 10 hours | HD / 4K / 4K | 2048 px / 4K / 4K |
If you run out of minutes, it's $5 per month for each additional hour.
What else is important to know from the Pixieset help:
- Download as recompressed MP4. Clients download videos in MP4 format, up to 2048 pixels on the longest side. Couples can download the film in 4K only on the Pro and Ultimate plans. This means that on Basic and Plus, you upload a 4K master, and the couple receives approximately 2K.
- Recommended format: H.264, 8-bit, 4:2:0. If you edit a master in 10-bit ProRes or H.265, you will need to create a separate export for Pixieset.
- No upscaling. A 1080p file will remain 1080p even on a 4K plan.
- Videos cannot be sold through the built-in store—only shown and downloaded.
Why Minutes Get Expensive
At first glance, minutes are convenient: it's clear how many films will fit. But this model has a catch. Each new wedding eats up minutes, and the space doesn't free up automatically. To upload the next season, you have two options: buy extra hours at $5 per month each—every month the film stays in the gallery—or delete old galleries. And deleting a gallery means a couple who wants to rewatch their wedding or download the film again three years from now will find an empty link.
Pixieset vs OurStoria for Video
Here's how these same issues are addressed at OurStoria, a client gallery service created primarily for video. Briefly and exclusively about video; a detailed comparison of all points is in the article OurStoria vs Pixieset.
| Pixieset | OurStoria | |
|---|---|---|
| How video is calculated | Minutes: from 30 minutes to 10 hours | Gigabytes: 450 GB on Pro, 1.5 TB on Studio |
| 4K | Starting with the Pro plan ($24 per month when billed annually) | On paid plans; Pro is $24.99 per month |
| What the couple downloads | MP4 up to 2048 px; 4K — only with Pro | Original file without recompression |
| ~10 hours of 4K video | Suite Ultimate $55 per month or Client Gallery Ultimate + 5 hours = $65 | Pro $24.99 per month (at a bitrate of ~100 Mbps) |
| Past seasons | Delete galleries or pay $5 per month per hour | Safe Archive: $12 per year per project, couples retain access |
Where "10 hours on Pro" comes from: a 4K master with a bitrate of approximately 100 Mbps takes up approximately 45 GB per hour (100 megabits per second × 3,600 seconds = 360,000 megabits, or 45,000 megabytes). 450 GB holds approximately 10 hours of such video—the same amount as Pixieset's most expensive Suite plan, but at less than half the price.

What Pixieset Costs in Real Life: 3 Scenarios
Let's calculate the annual cost for three typical scenarios (prices are based on annual payment).
1. Wedding photographer, 25 weddings per year, own website. Needs galleries with originals and plenty of space for photos, almost no video. → Pixieset Client Gallery Pro: $24 × 12 = $288 per year. This is a reasonable price for a photographer.
2. Photographer who needs galleries, a website, and a CRM. → Pixieset Suite Pro: $38 × 12 = $456 per year instead of $720 for the three products separately.
3. Videographer or hybrid shooter, 20 weddings per season, highlights + full film. For each wedding: a 5-minute highlight and a 45-minute full film—about 50 minutes of video in total. 20 weddings equals 1,000 minutes, or nearly 17 hours.
→ Pixieset Client Gallery Ultimate (5 hours) + 12 additional hours: $40 + 12 × $5 = $100 per month, $1,200 per year. → Pixieset Suite Ultimate (10 hours) + 7 additional hours: $55 + 7 × $5 = $90 per month, $1,080 per year.
And now for the second season. If you don't delete last year's films, you'll need twice as many minutes—about 34 hours. That's Suite Ultimate + 24 hours: $55 + 24 × $5 = $175 per month, $2,100 per year. And the cost increases with each season.
The same videographer at OurStoria. Let's assume you deliver films in 4K at a typical delivery bitrate of around 50 Mbps—that's about 22.5 GB per hour, or about 19 GB per wedding. Twenty weddings equal approximately 375 GB: a season fits into the Pro plan, $249.99 per year. In the second season, last year's weddings are sent to Safe Archive at $12 per project per year—20 × $12 = $240—and your Pro space frees up for the new season. The total is about $490 per year, and couples from every season keep access to their films.
If you deliver masters at around 100 Mbps, one season will take up about 750 GB—that's the Studio plan for $599.99 per year with 1.5 TB of storage. Still almost half the price of the first season on Pixieset.
| Pixieset (Suite Ultimate + hours) | OurStoria | |
|---|---|---|
| First season, 20 weddings | $1,080 per year | $249.99 (Pro) to $599.99 (Studio) |
| Second season without deleting the first | $2,100 per year | ~$490 (Pro + Safe Archive) |
The Fine Print: Costs You Won't See at First Glance
| What | Cost | Who it matters to |
|---|---|---|
| Additional Video | $5 per month per hour, for as long as the video stays in the gallery | For videographers and hybrid shooters |
| Additional Emails | $10 per month for every 5,000 | For those who send newsletters |
| Photo Editor | $12 per month | For photographers who process RAW in Pixieset |
| Store Commission | 15% on Free, 0% on paid | For those who sell prints from a free account |
And a few more details from the Pixieset FAQ:
- Payment by card only: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and debit cards.
- You can change your plan at any time, with the unused portion prorated.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your personal account.
What's missing from the pricing page is an answer to the question of what happens to your galleries if you downgrade to a plan with a lower limit. For a videographer with a film archive, this is a key question: check with Pixieset support before downgrading.
Monthly vs Annual: Is the Discount Worth It?
All Client Gallery plans offer a 20% discount on annual payments compared to monthly payments: Pro is $24 per month when paid annually and $30 monthly. Website and Studio Manager plans offer a 25% discount on Pro ($18 versus $24). Suite plans save about 20% on Starter, 24% on Pro, and about 15% on Ultimate.
But before you pay for a year upfront, consider how much video you'll have a year from now. Annual payments lock in the price of the plan, but not the cost of additional hours, which grow with your archive.
Who Pixieset Is (and Isn't) For
If you primarily deliver photos, Pixieset will handle it: plenty of storage space for photos even on mid-range plans, client proofing, a commission-free print store on paid plans, a website, and CRM all in one account.
If you deliver videos, Pixieset will cost more than its pricing page suggests at first glance. Minutes instead of gigabytes, HD and 2K downloads on lower plans, $5 per month for every additional hour, and a choice between a growing bill and deleting old films. Videographers should look for services where video is the core product, not an add-on to a photo gallery.
For Videographers: A Gallery Built Around the Film
OurStoria was created for those who deliver films to clients. That's why everything is organized around video, and photos are placed alongside it, not the other way around:
- Video in gigabytes, not minutes. A long, full-length film is no more expensive than a short highlight—only the file size matters.
- Original quality. Files are stored and delivered to the couple exactly as you uploaded them, without recompression. The couple watches the film in 4K on a TV and downloads the same master you exported.
- Film chapters. A full film can be divided into chapters—getting ready, ceremony, toasts, dancing—by importing markers from DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro. You can learn how this works in the article about wedding film chapters.
- Safe Archive for past seasons. Old projects are archived for $12 per year, no longer taking up space in your plan, and couples keep permanent access to their films and photos.
- Photos next to the video. Wedding photos are stored in the same gallery, at the same link, under your brand.
Plans: Pro — $24.99 per month ($249.99 per year): 450 GB of storage for videos, 50 GB of storage for photos, 40 projects. Studio — $59.99 per month ($599.99 per year): 1.5 TB of storage and 120 projects.

Summary
Pixieset was created so photographers could stop burning photos to DVDs, and it still works for photos: a free plan to get started, galleries starting at $8 per month, generous storage for photos, and a Suite package if you need a website and CRM.
Video is a different story. Pixieset counts it in minutes, cuts it down to HD and 2K on lower plans, and charges $5 per month for each additional hour. A season of wedding films costs $1,000–$1,200 per year, with a second season costing twice as much. If you deliver films to clients, choose a service that counts video as you shoot it, like OurStoria.
